Slosh Noise from Rear of Vehicle

A sloshing noise while stopping may be heard on some 2010 Camaro models. The source of the noise may be from the fuel tank or the exhaust muffler at the rear of the car.

To confirm if the noise is coming from the fuel tank, add or remove three gallons of fuel in the fuel tank and retest.

If the noise is gone after changing the fuel level, then this is a normal operating condition. No repairs are needed. The noise is considered normal for that level of fuel in the tank.

If the noise is present at all fuel levels, inspect for a blocked drain hole in the mufflers. Use an awl or small pick to clear the drain hole.
