Full-size Truck PPS Re-zero Procedure

On the 2009-2010 Escalade, Escalade EXT, Escalade ESV, Avalanche, Suburban, Silverado, Tahoe, Sierra, Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, and Yukon Denali XL, the Passenger Presence System (PPS) re-zero procedure is not required.

TIP: 2009-2010 Tahoe Hybrid and Yukon Hybrid only (NOT Denali or XL Models) are the only full-size truck models that require the re-zero procedure.

Starting in 2009 on the full-size pickup and utility models, the PPS features a new design that does not require it to be re-zeroed using the Tech 2. The re-zero procedure updated the empty seat reference values stored in the ECU. The re-zero procedure has been removed from the Tech 2 menu for these models that do not require a re-zero. Service Information is being updated.

The Tech 2 looks at the GM part number in the PPS Module and determines if a re-zero process is needed. If a re-zero is needed, then the option will be available on the Tech 2 menu. If no re-zero function is listed, it's not necessary to perform the re-zero procedure.
