When
installing an engine or replacing a crankshaft on a 2007-2009 LaCrosse, Allure
(Canada only), CTS, SRX, STS, G6; 2007-2010 Enclave, Acadia, AURA, OUTLOOK; 2008-2009
G8, Torrent; 2008-2010 Equinox, Malibu, Camaro, VUE; 2009-2010 Traverse; 2010
LaCrosse, CTS, CTS Wagon with 2.8L or 3.6L High Feature V6 Engine (VINs D, T,
V, 7; RPOs LP1, LLT, LY7), the keyway on the replacement may be different from
the original. Also, other engine components may be different and need to be
used from the original engine.
If
the original has a keyway slot (Fig. 16) and the
replacement has a round hole (Fig. 17), use round
pin part number 12585420 in the crankshaft and then install the harmonic
balancer. Install a new bolt and torque it properly. The harmonic balancer will
not need to be changed.
Be
sure to follow all instructions included with the engine pertaining to the oil
pan, front cover, flexplate, and other components.
