Automatic Transmission Range Select Lever Nut

The Service Information for all model years and applications has been updated recently regarding the automatic transmission range select lever nut.

When performing repairs on all automatic transmissions, it is important to hold the transmission range select lever while removing or installing the lever retaining nut. (Fig. 13)

Failure to hold the lever may cause damage to the transmission's internal park system components, which could allow the vehicle to roll when placed in the Park position.
