Key Sticks in Ignition

The 2009-10 Vibe utilizes a steering wheel lock mechanism that may put pressure on the ignition lock cylinder if the vehicle is parked on an uneven surface, or with one or both of the front wheels against an object such as a curb. When parked in this manner, the ignition key may be difficult to turn in the ignition or difficult to remove.

To relieve the pressure on the key and allow it to move freely, jiggle the steering wheel side to side while turning the key.

Rather than attempting a repair for this concern, explain to the driver what is causing the key to stick and how to free it up by moving the steering wheel.
