Center Cap Installation

The owner of a 2008-09 fullsize pickup or utility equipped with aluminum factory wheels may experience loose, missing, or noisy center caps (fig. 20).

This may be due to an improperly installed center cap. Check for proper installation of the center cap. It is possible to install the center cap in several ways, but there is only one correct way to achieve a tight fit. Incorrect installation may result in broken retaining tabs (fig. 21).

When installing the center cap, the valve stem icon on the backside of the cap (fig. 22) should point toward the valve stem of the wheel. With the icon aligned properly, use the heel of the hand to seat the cap into place.
